Iran reveals new jersey for FIFA World Cup 2026

The new kit for Iran national football team was unveiled for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The jersey featured a design inspired by the team’s previous World Cup appearance and national symbols. The development came on Friday.

The new jersey was produced by a local Iranian sports brand. The jersey is predominantly white. It also carries design elements that are similar to Iran’s 2022 World Cup kit.

The new jersey will also see the return of the Asian Cheetah watermark. The Asian Cheetah is a symbol closely associated with Iranian football in recent years.

The sleeves of the jersey have tonal patterns that are inspired by animal skin textures. The edges of the sleeves are however being different as they display the colours of the Iranian flag.

Player numbers and Red logos are also prominently featured on the kit.

The official news agency of Iran said that the national team will travel to Turkey on Monday. In Turkey they will be participating in a pre-World Cup training camp in Antalya. The squad in Turkey will be playing two friendly matches ahead of the tournament.

On Thursday, a special farewell ceremony for the team was held on Thursday. It was held at Enqelab square in Tehran.

The ceremony was attended by the coaching staff, players, football federation officials and sports personalities.

The organisers during the event also unveiled the team’s official World Cup anthem and presented the new jersey to media and supporters.

Iran will be playing in Group G of the World Cup. In Group G, they will be playing with Belgium, New Zealand and Egypt.

The World Cup campaign of the Iranian side will begin on June 16 against New Zealand in Los Angeles.
