Hajj flights continue until May 21 as thousands reach Saudi Arabia

About 69 per cent of Pakistan’s total Hajj quota, comprising 123,684 pilgrims, has arrived in Saudi Arabia, as the country’s Hajj flight operations continue until May 21.

According to official figures, nearly 81 per cent of pilgrims under the government Hajj scheme have reached Saudi Arabia, including 97,208 government-sponsored pilgrims. In addition, more than 26,000 private pilgrims are currently in the Kingdom to perform Hajj.

National and private airlines, including Pakistan International Airlines, Airblue, Airsial and Saudia, are actively participating in the ongoing Hajj operation to facilitate pilgrims’ travel to Saudi Arabia.

Hajj flights are continuing from Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Multan, Sialkot, Faisalabad and Sukkur. In total, 179,210 pilgrims from Pakistan are expected to perform Hajj this year.

Federal Minister will visit Pakistan Hajj Mission

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf will visit the Pakistan Hajj Mission along with the Secretary for Religious Affairs. According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the minister will receive a briefing on the ongoing Hajj arrangements and the facilities being provided to pilgrims. He will also visit the residential buildings housing Pakistani pilgrims in Mecca.

Hajj assistants, medical teams and field staff have been fully mobilised to serve Pakistani pilgrims. The Hajj Mission is providing accommodation, food, transport, and medical facilities for pilgrims.

According to the spokesperson, Pakistan International Airlines, Airblue, Airsial and Saudia are participating in the Hajj operation. Hajj flights are continuing from Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Multan, Sialkot, Faisalabad and Sukkur.

Thousands of Pakistani pilgrims are engaged in worship and preparations for Hajj in Mecca, while the transfer of pilgrims from Medina to Mecca is also underway. Food, accommodation and transport facilities are being continuously provided to the pilgrims. Special medical desks and hospitals are also operational in Saudi Arabia to assist Pakistani pilgrims.
