Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has thanked the leadership of Qatar for its strong endorsement and support of Pakistan-led peace efforts aimed at de-escalation and promoting regional peace and stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held discussions on regional and international developments during a telephone conversation, with both leaders agreeing to maintain regular high-level contacts to follow up on the outcomes of their talks.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister thanked the Qatari leadership for its strong support and endorsement of Pakistan’s ongoing peace efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and promoting peace and stability in the region.
He also appreciated Qatar’s constructive role in regional diplomacy and its efforts to build consensus in support of ongoing mediation initiatives. Both leaders agreed on the need for continuous communication and close consultation among all relevant parties to address shared challenges.
The Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and expressed his anticipation of the Emir’s official visit to Pakistan.
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining regular high-level contact to follow up on the outcomes of their discussions.
