Field Marshal Asim Munir pays tribute to martyrs at GHQ

The media wing of the Pakistan Army, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) organised a military award distribution ceremony at GHQ Rawalpindi, where the Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, handed over military awards to the families of martyrs, officers and soldiers on behalf of the Pakistan Army.

This time 50 Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) and 12 Tamgha-e-Basalat awards were handed out. Posthumous awards were handed over to the families of the martyrs to pay tribute to their sacrifices before the nation.

The martyrs, who laid down their lives in the struggle for peace and the war heroes are the nation’s everlasting pride and the country’s peace is due to their great sacrifices, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said.

He revered the spirit and sacrifices of the martyrs’ families, and said the war against the terrorism will go on with the full national strength till it is eradicated.

He also pointed out that security forces and law enforcement agencies are on duty at all times to maintain peace and stability in the country.

Profound admiration was also expressed by the Field Marshal for the dignity, resilience and steadfastness demonstrated by the families of the martyrs.

Their unparalleled sacrifices and unwavering commitment to their homeland were acknowledged.

Operational Preparedness and unwavering resolve of the Pakistan Army and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) were also commended by the Field Marshal.

The sustained efforts against terrorism were lauded by the Field Marshal. The field marshal also affirmed that the fight against terrorism will go on with full national resolve until enduring peace and stability are achieved throughout the country.
