PCB starts search for new batting coach

PCB latest

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally opened the process for hiring a new batting coach of the Pakistan men’s white-ball national team by releasing a formal advertisement recently.

The board said it would be looking for a very smart and qualified person who can help the national side to shape up their batting.

The PCB’s eligibility criteria said that applicants should hold a minimum of a Level II cricket coaching accreditation and have at least five years’ experience of coaching cricket at a similar stage.

The person should have experience with professional level cricketers, national teams, franchise teams and international cricket.

The PCB highlighted that the candidate needs to be very well versed in the techniques of batting, player development and game analysis.

Experience with internationally recognised monitoring and evaluation systems that serve to enhance batting standards has also been identified as important.

The board would also like to recruit those who have a history of coaching players for international performance and have good organisational, planning and management skills.

Interested candidates are required to have the ability to work with a diverse range of people effectively, exhibit good communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities, said officials.

Understanding advanced coaching technologies was among the desired skills that were preferred as a plus by the PCB, as was computer literacy, such as working with Microsoft Office and different coaching software.

According to sources, the appointment is for the white-ball side of Pakistan, which will officially be vacant after the three-match ODI series against Australia on June 4.

The resignation of current batting coach Hanif Malik, who stepped down several weeks ago, means he has to serve out his notice period and is likely to be let go after his final job. The last date for applications is 7th June.
