Shan Masood, the Pakistani test captain admitted that the team was deeply disheartened after they got whitewashed by Bangladesh in Sylhet.

He also clarified that he will not be blaming any department for the loss be it bowling, fielding or batting.

After this he said that important meetings will be taking place with the cricket board regarding the future of Pakistan’s test cricket team.

He also stressed that the focus is completely on improving the test cricket of Pakistan.

Shan Masood also took responsibility for his captaincy and assured that his intentions were pure. He also emphasised that his priority was the betterment of Pakistan’s cricket and does not care about any position.

After whitewashing Pakistan, Bangladesh has risen to the fifth place in the ICC World Test Championship Rankings (WTC) 2025-27 points table.

They defeated Pakistan by 78-runs in the second test in Sylhet.

The result of the whitewash was that Bangladesh reached 28 points from four matches. They have two wins, one defeat and one draw. This gave them a win percentage of 58.33.

India slipped down due to the rise of Bangladesh. India now sits at 52 points from 9 tests and has a percentage of 48.15.

The whitewash has had very negative consequences for the Pakistan cricket team. They have slipped down to number 8 on the points table.
