Field Marshal Asim Munir, PM Shehbaz wish nation happy Eid ul Azha

On the occasion of Eid ul Azha 2026, the top leadership of Pakistan has extended greetings to the people of Pakistan.

The Chief of Defence Forces and the Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu sent their best wishes to the nation.

They said that they pray for peace, prosperity, and unity in the country. Further, they paid tribute to the resilience of the Pakistani people.

They honoured the sacrifices of the martyrs, armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and citizens who protect the country.

“Eid-ul-Azha symbolises sacrifice, faith, and solidarity. The Pakistan Armed Forces remain steadfast in their sacred duty to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and stand shoulder to shoulder with the nation in pursuit of peace and stability,” said the ISPR in a post on Facebook.

They also paid special respect to the families of the martyrs. They said their sacrifices are a source of strength for the nation.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also sent an Eid message to the nation and the Muslim world. He said Eid ul Azha teaches the values of sacrifice, unity, and kindness.

He said people should care for the poor, needy, and underprivileged and include them in Eid celebrations. Further, he said this helps build a strong and united society.

The prime minister said true sacrifice means giving up personal wishes for a greater cause. He said people should show kindness, care, and responsibility toward others.

The PM also said Eid ul Azha reminds Muslims of the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Ismail (AS) and their obedience to Allah.

He paid tribute to martyrs who gave their lives for the country and in incidents of terrorism. He said their sacrifices are a matter of national pride.

The PM also expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
