Ferrari launches $649K ‘Luce’, check specs here

Ferrari has officially introduced Luce, its first fully electric vehicle, entering the EV market, which is currently led by Tesla and Chinese BYD.

With a price tag of $649,000, the Ferrari Luce marks a notable shift from the classic supercar design.

This supercar features four doors and five seats, developed in partnership with Sir Jony Ive’s agency, LoveFrom, to provide an unconventional perspective on both the exterior and interior of the vehicle.

Ferrari design

The design showcases a spaceship shape, wheels measuring 23-24 inches, rear-hinged doors, and an aerodynamic body.

It includes a flexible hatchback design for five passengers, which contributes to a lower center of gravity and enhanced torsional rigidity.

Inside, the EV boasts CNC-machined aluminum, a tactile feel, and a console that incorporates advanced glass technology.

Physical switchgear allows for manual vehicle control.

Luce interior and speed specs

Ferrari has aimed to preserve the “Ferrari experience” by integrating an accelerometer that captures dynamic vibrations from rotating parts, creating a genuine electric sound.

Additionally, the car features Torque Shift Engagement, which mimics engine braking and a chassis control system to handle the vehicle at various angles.

Despite weighing nearly 5000 pounds, Ferrari claims the Luce can accelerate to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds and reach 124 mph in 6.8 seconds, with a top speed of 193 mph.

A launch mode can be activated using a pull handle in the overhead console, optimising the traction-control system, providing an extra torque boost, and unlocking an additional 54 horsepower.

The car will be available for sale in Europe later this year, priced at nearly 550,000 euros, which is about $640,000.

However, the Luce is not expected to arrive in the US until the second quarter of 2027, and pricing for the U.S. market has yet to be announced.
