Arab media reports have claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts over the past decade to diplomatically isolate Pakistan have largely failed.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, Pakistan has maintained strong diplomatic relations with the United States, China, Iran and Saudi Arabia since Modi announced the isolation policy in 2016, strengthening its position as an important regional player.
The report said Pakistan gained diplomatic support during the 2025 Pakistan-India tensions, while the international community did not accept India’s claims regarding the Pahalgam incident without evidence.
It added that India faced criticism at home, while US President Donald Trump praised Pakistan’s military leadership and described it as an “extraordinary personality.”
The report said Pakistan’s close partnership with China has reshaped regional dynamics. It also noted that ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh have improved significantly since the end of Sheikh Hasina’s tenure.
Arab media further highlighted Pakistan’s growing role as a security partner for Gulf countries and said Modi’s domestic policies have affected India’s international image.
The report also noted that Pakistan has drawn US interest through its mineral resources, investment opportunities and diplomatic engagement. It added that Trump claimed credit for more than 30 Pakistan-India ceasefires, while India repeatedly rejected his role, creating friction between Washington and New Delhi.
