According to a notification issued over new market timings by the office of the District Magistrate of Islamabad, shops, markets and shopping malls will close at 8 PM starting from 1 June.
On the other hand, all restaurants, food outlets, grocery stores and bakeries will close at 10 PM.
The notification by the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad added that marriage halls and marquees will also close at 10 PM, with the new timing applying to private events as well.
Earlier, market timings in the federal capital were relaxed due to Eid ul Azha shopping in order to facilitate the public.
A partial modification had been made to the notification issued earlier in the light of the austerity measures.
Similarly, the Punjab government also granted relief extending the 8 PM until 1 June.
Crackdown launched against non-registered cafes
In May, Islamabad also underwent a crackdown against cafes.
The department of tourism decided to crack down on non-registered cafes and restaurants in the federal capital, Islamabad, the private media outlet reported.
According to authorities, the crackdown began against the restaurants and cafes that are not registered as per the registration rules.
The department also issued the showcause notices to several shop owners and the business department to submit a written explanation within 15 days.
