The recent rain and storms in various cities of Pakistan have injured more than 20 people across the country.

More than 20 people were injured after strong winds, dust storms and heavy rain swept across parts of Pakistan.

Rain in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) regions has brought relief from a prolonged heatwave but also caused disruption in several regions.

In KP, stormy weather led to a number of incidents involving falling trees, collapsing walls and damaged signboards.

Rescue officials said more than 20 people were injured in different districts, while emergency teams and local authorities carried out relief operations in affected areas.

The weather also changed dramatically across Sindh, where rain reduced temperatures in Tharparkar and hailstorms were reported in Sukkur.

Strong winds and dust storms affected several cities, including Larkana, Hyderabad, Matiari, Hala, New Saeedabad, Shikarpur and Kandhkot, disrupting daily life and reducing visibility on roads.

In Punjab, rainfall and gusty winds were reported in a number of cities, including Lahore, Jhelum, Sargodha, Gujrat, Rahim Yar Khan and Chiniot. Residents welcomed the cooler conditions after days of intense heat, although power supply disruptions were reported in some areas.

The twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi also witnessed rain after a wave of heat.

Meanwhile, strong winds in Lower Kurram caused a tower carrying a major electricity transmission line to collapse, leaving Parachinar, nearby localities and several villages along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border without electricity.

Officials said repair work had begun to restore power to affected areas, while authorities continued to monitor the situation and assess damage caused by the severe weather.

The latest spell of rain comes after weeks of high temperatures in many parts of the country, offering relief to residents but also highlighting the risks posed by sudden and severe weather conditions.
