PHF launches Coaching Education Programme across the country

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) along with the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has now introduced a Coaching Education Programme across the country.

The program, part of PHF’s larger strategy for reviving and developing hockey long-term, will start on July 5, 2026, at the Islamabad Sports Complex.

As per a PHF press release issued on Sunday, the initiative will roll out in phases to ensure involvement from all regions of Pakistan.

In the initial phase, coaches from Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir will participate in the program.

The federation stated that the project aims to strengthen the foundation of hockey development by establishing a unified coaching framework, enhancing technical skills, and promoting consistent coaching methods at grassroots, developmental, and elite levels.

PHF has also called for nominations of qualified coaches through provincial hockey associations, sports departments, educational institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.

Interested individuals can apply using a dedicated online form available on the official websites of PHF and PSB.

For more details, PHF has requested that interested individuals reach out to its Technical Director of High Performance and Development, Tahir Zaman, using the federation’s official communication channels.

The federation has also requested support from the Higher Education Commission, provincial sports authorities, hockey associations, educational boards, and other relevant organisations to ensure wide representation from across the country.

PHF officials are confident that this initiative will help create a new generation of qualified coaches with modern knowledge and skills to provide contemporary hockey education and training.

They believe the program will play an important role in strengthening the country’s coaching network and will significantly contribute to the revival and sustainable growth of hockey in Pakistan.
