The Chief of Defence Forces and the Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met with the Turkish Land Forces Commander today, Thursday and discussed regional security, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the meeting, various aspects of further promoting the long standing brotherly relations and defence cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries were reviewed.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and General Mitan Tawakal reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the defence partnership between Pakistan and Turkey.
The two military leaders emphasised the importance of joint efforts for the promotion of regional peace and stability.
They also agreed to further expand military training, professional exchanges and cooperation in the defence sector.
Field Marshal Asim Munir meets Bahrain National Guard Chief
Previously, the Chief of Defence Forces and the Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met with the Commander of the Bahrain National Guard, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In the meeting, which focused on defence cooperation between the two countries, the regional situation and matters of mutual interest were discussed in detail.
During the meeting, the current security situation in the region and the challenges related to it were also discussed.
11 Khawarij of Indian-backed Fitna al Khwarij killed
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has said recently that in the last forty eight hours, the security forces engaged multiple Khwarijs’ locations in the general area Datta Khel, North Waziristan District.
“Following intense and fierce exchanges of fire, eleven khwarij belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij were effectively neutralised”, said ISPR in a statement.
“Weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from killed Indian sponsored Khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.”
