Iran deal digitally signed on Sunday says JD Vance

The United States (US) Vice President JD Vance said that the Iran deal was signed digitally on Sunday (yesterday). He confirmed that the deal’s terms were already signed and Iran will not be able to get a new financial relief.

“We already signed the deal digitally yesterday, and there’s been no money released. And that won’t change,” Vance said while talking to an international media outlet.

JD Vance also said, “Iran doesn’t get a dime of money unless they perform their obligations. And the money that we’re talking about is fundamentally sanctions relief. We’re not giving them American money—not a single dollar of American money will go to Iran.

We are willing to give significant sanctions relief if the Iranians make the kind of long-term commitments that are necessary to be a normal country, to give up their nuclear weapons program, and to stop funding terrorist activities all over the Middle East.”

Earlier on Friday, the US President Donald Trump said that the US-Iran deal will be officially signed on Friday in Geneva.

Donald Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social account, “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all! I hereby fully authorise the toll-free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorise the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow.”

At the same time, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif also confirmed through a post on X that the US-Iran deal will be signed on Friday in Geneva. PM Shehbaz also said that Pakistan will host the signing ceremony in Geneva.

He wrote on X, “Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED. Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon. The official signing ceremony will be on Friday, 19 June in Switzerland. We would like to thank the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our brothers in this mediation effort, the great leadership of the State of Qatar, for their support in reaching this agreement. I would also especially thank the visionary leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Türkiye for their immense contributions in this regard.

With the agreement now in place, mediators will facilitate a series of meetings this week. These pre-implementation discussions will lay the foundation for the technical talks and the official signing ceremony.”
