The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a weather alert forecasting heavy rain and hailstorms from June 16 across multiple regions in Pakistan.
As per the weather alert issued by the PMD, the rain spell will remain in effect from June 16 to June 20, 2026, as the incoming western waves have arrived in the northern areas of Pakistan.
Here are the predictions as per the PMD, according to the provinces:
Punjab/ Islamabad
Heavy rainfall and hailstorms are expected in Islamabad/ Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Pakpattan, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Noorpur Thal, Bhakkar, Layyah, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, D.G. Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Kot Addu starting from June 16 to June 20.
Sindh
Sindh will have rainfall in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Khairpur, Dadu, Ghotki, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi and its surrounding areas starting from June 16 to June 20.
Balochistan
Heavy rain accompanied by dusty winds is expected in Zhob, Sherani, Ziarat, Kohlu, Naseerabad, Quetta, Qilla Saifullah, Qilla Abdullah, Harnai, Sibi, Barkhan, Khuzdar and Dera Bugti on June 16.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)
The following areas, including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Mohmand, Khyber, Waziristan, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Hangu, and Kurram, will be witnessing rain and thunderstorms from June 16 to June 20.
Kashmir/ Gilgit Baltistan (GB)
PMD has predicted heavy rain accompanied by hailstorms in the Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber and Mirpur. While in GB, the following areas will witness rainfall: Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche and Shigar.
