Attack on Lebanon will consider violation of US-Iran deal Araghchi

The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that a single attack on Lebanon by Israel from now on will be considered a violation of the US-Israel deal. He also warned Israel against the continued occupation of any part of Lebanon.  

Abbas Aragchi said while speaking to the diplomats in Tehran that the war matters of Iran and Lebanon are connected, adding that a single attack by Israel on Lebanon can cancel the deal between the US and Iran.

Abbas Aragchi confirmed that the US-Iran negotiations will be completed in two phases. He further added that the US-Iran deal will be effective from Friday (this week) onward.

The Iranian Foreign Minister stated that the second phase of negotiations for the final deal will start on Friday in Switzerland.

Araghchi said that initially, the talks between the US and Iran will be regarding a complete ceasefire on all fronts. After that, both countries will talk about nuclear weapons and the release of sanctions.

He said that the end of the war was declared after the agreement with the United States was finalised on Monday, Iranian time.

Earlier, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, praised Pakistan for playing its role as a key negotiator to end the conflict between the US and Iran. He also congratulated the US and Iran on the peace deal.

He praised Pakistan and other countries that played a role in easing the tensions between the US and Iran. He wrote in a post on X, “I warmly congratulate the US & Iran for having reached a peace deal that provides for an immediate & permanent ceasefire, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as a framework for further negotiations. This represents a critical step towards the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
