Islamabad High Court announces summer vacation 2026

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has announced the annual summer vacation from July 1, 2026, to August 31, 2026, on Thursday. A formal notification has also been issued in this regard.

The notification was issued by Registrar Muhammad Yar Walana after the approval of the Chief Justice.

According to the notification, the Islamabad High Court will have vacations from July 1 to August 31, 2026.

Before this, the summer vacation was announced in the Lahore High Court. According to the notification, the summer vacation in the Lahore High Court will be observed from July 6 to September 5.

Summer in Islamabad

The weather in Islamabad remains hot and sunny. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said that rain with strong winds is expected in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The Met Office also warned that some areas may experience heavy rain and hailstorms.

According to the PMD, a western weather system is affecting the upper and central parts of the country, while moisture from the Arabian Sea is moving towards central and southern areas. A seasonal low-pressure system is also active over western Balochistan and nearby regions.

Prior to this, in another major decision, the IHC suspended the property tax bill proposed by the Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad (MCI).

Yesterday, the IHC suspended the said bill, according to the reports. It has also summoned answers from the federal government and other related authorities.

Notices have been sent to the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of the Cabinet Division after the court order.

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro also sought answers from the officials of the MCI and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in his order.

Quaid-e-Azam University summer vacations 2026

Earlier today, the Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) announced its summer vacation schedule. All academic activities are set to remain suspended from July 6 to August 30, 2026, according to the details.

The university administration further advised the students to check the official university website regularly for updates regarding the academic calendar, examinations, hostel operations, and other important announcements.
