Commissioner Rawalpindi reviews Master Plan Rawalpindi progress

Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Engr Aamer Khattak, on Thursday held a meeting to review the progress of Master Plan Rawalpindi.

Deputy Commissioners of Rawalpindi and Attock, Assistant Commissioners of Taxila, Gujar Khan, Kahuta, Hassan Abdal and Fateh Jang were also present at the meeting.

Land management issues in Rawalpindi district, Chakwal and Murree were also discussed and reviewed in the form of presentations.

The Chair Engr Aamer Khattak was briefed on the current status of properties and administrative problems.

He urged all relevant departments and district administrations to work alongside one another under a coordinated plan for effective development.

RDA also presented a briefing on the Master Plan Rawalpindi. The Chief Planner discussed the progress and future prospects for the initiative.

Commissioner Rawalpindi urges timely completion of Master Plan

The Commissioner urged the RDA officers to speed up work on the Master Plan after reviewing the presentation.

He added that upon completion, the Master Plan Rawalpindi would serve as a strong base for planned urban development and sustainable infrastructure.

The Commissioner Rawalpindi further mentioned the importance of coordinated planning and land management to solve the urbanisation crisis in the region.

He added that there is a need to protect public property, put a stop to encroachments and smooth out planning of land use.

These must be carried out in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Master Plan Rawalpindi, he noted.
