Peshawar Zalmi tops PSL 11 fan poll, wins most entertaining team title

Peshawar Zalmi once again showcased its unmatched popularity, emerging as the most entertaining franchise of PSL 11 both on and off the field.

According to the latest fan poll report, Peshawar Zalmi secured the highest number of votes among all PSL teams, with more than 160,000 fans participating in the survey.

The overwhelming support from cricket enthusiasts earned Zalmi the title of the most-loved and most entertaining team of the season, further strengthening its position as one of the league’s most influential franchises.

The data revealed that Peshawar Zalmi’s content generated 952.6 million views during PSL 11, while the franchise recorded 1.98 billion impressions across its digital platforms.

During the same period, the team’s social media accounts gained 1.238 million new followers, and more than 4,500 digital posts were shared across various platforms.

The report further stated that Peshawar Zalmi set new benchmarks in fan engagement, digital reach, and online popularity. Chairman Javed Afridi attributed this achievement to the love, trust, and unwavering support of Zalmi fans, saying that this honour would not have been possible without them.

It is worth mentioning here that Peshawar Zalmi defeated Hyderabad Kingsmen to claim the PSL 11 title. Hyderabad, making their debut appearance in the league, enjoyed a remarkable campaign and reached the final, but fell short of lifting the trophy.

In the championship match at Gaddafi Stadium, Babar Azam’s side had delivered an outstanding all-round performance to secure their second PSL title.

It was also Zalmi’s fifth appearance in a PSL final. The franchise previously won the trophy at the same venue on March 5, 2017, under the captaincy of Darren Sammy. Chasing a modest target of 130 runs set by Hyderabad, Zalmi faced some early challenges. However, Hardy and Abdul Samad showed composure under pressure, putting together a crucial 85-run partnership that guided their team to a memorable victory.
