Suryavanshi rewrites record books with blazing 11-ball fifty

Aggressive young Indian batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi etched his name into the record books by smashing a half-century in just 11 balls.

In the tri-series final against Sri Lanka A on Sunday, the 15-year-old sensation shattered the 21-year-old record for the fastest fifty in List A cricket, producing a breathtaking display of power-hitting.

The 15-year-old smashed 94 runs off just 29 deliveries and surpassed the record previously held by Kaushalya Weeraratne for the fastest List A fifty.

Suryavanshi’s explosive knock of 94 featured 10 fours and eight sixes, helping him achieve the historic milestone. The young batting sensation is also expected to make his debut for India later this month.

After winning the toss, Sri Lanka A captain Sahan Arachchige chose to bowl first against the Tilak Varma-led India A side. However, the decision quickly backfired as teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi launched a breathtaking assault from the outset.

The explosive left-handed opener signalled his intent early, smashing five sixes within the first four overs and putting the Sri Lankan bowlers under immense pressure.

Suryavanshi then etched his name into the record books by registering the fastest half-century in List A cricket history, reaching the milestone in just 11 deliveries. At one stage, the 15-year-old looked on course to break the record for the fastest List A century as well.
