The Lahore Traffic Police has initiated a major crackdown against those vehicles having e-challans that are due.
According to the media reports, the traffic police in Lahore have blacklisted more than 100 vehicles over unpaid e-challans.
The authorities clearly stated that strict action will be taken against these blacklisted vehicles whenever detected in the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA) camera surveillance system.
As per the latest data of the traffic police department, one of the blacklisted vehicle owners committed more than 398 traffic violations and has not paid a single e-challan to date.
Talking about the other vehicle owners, they committed between 200 and 300 violations without clearing even a single traffic violation challan.
The traffic police official added that the blacklisted vehicles have a million rupees in fines that are due, among which some of the vehicles even have to pay e-challans up to Rs500,000.
Authorities have mentioned that approval for legal action against all of these traffic violators has been granted by the government, as the owners of the vehicles have repeatedly ignored the e-challan notices and fines.
The officials of the traffic police said that the crackdown will continue against all of the traffic violators.
