SBP announces bank holiday on July 1 for public transactions

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it will remain closed for public transactions on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, on the occasion of a bank holiday.

According to the announcement, all banks, development finance institutions, and microfinance banks across the country will also remain closed for public dealings on this day.

The statement clarified that although public banking services and transactions will be suspended, employees of all banks, DFIs, and microfinance banks will report to their offices as usual and carry out internal work.

The State Bank has advised customers to plan their banking activities and financial transactions, keeping this holiday in mind.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) offices will remain closed on Muharram 9th and 10th across the country, a NADRA spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday.

NADRA spokesperson announced on social media that the NADRA offices will remain closed on June 25 and 26 across Pakistan, adding that 24-hour offices will also be closed from 12:00 midnight on June 24 and 25 to 8:00 am on June 27.

According to the recent announcement by the spokesperson of NADRA, the Mega Centres, which remain open on Saturday, will be operational normally. The spokesperson further added that the citizens will be able to receive NADRA services through the Pak ID mobile app during Muharram holidays.
