Today, another operation also took place in Balochistan. It was a pre-emptive operation in Killi Padda, North of Mastung.

The operation was based on intelligence reports that the terrorists were gathering to plan a high-profile attack in the area.

The operation started by 5:45 pm according to the security forces. A portion of the village and an abandoned house were cordoned off by the soldiers. It was believed that the house was being used by the terrorists.

The soldiers were using a surveillance drone when a bomb exploded within one of the buildings. According to initial reports, a suspected suicide bomber, on realising they were surrounded by armed forces, blew himself up.

After the bomb exploded, a massive search of the compound was done and five bodies of terrorists were found. Parts of body of the suspected suicide bomber were also found.

Weapons, explosives and communications gear were also recovered, in significant quantities.

What was recovered included two handheld wireless communication sets, 15 Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) rounds, a number of small arms ammunition, three SMG’s, one M4 rifle, night vision and a STOS device, in addition to a large amount of explosives.

The security forces also seized two Toyota Probox cars, which were thought to be set up for use as a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED).
