The Punjab government has launched its electric bus service in another district under Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz’s Green Mobility plan. The latest expansion will bring the service to Layyah.
The government has sent 10 electric buses to Layyah. It also plans to add five more buses in the coming days. The new buses are expected to give people a safer, more comfortable and cleaner way to travel.
Earlier, the Punjab government announced the same project for Narowal. Under that plan, 11 electric buses will run on six routes. The fare for each trip has been set at Rs. 20.
The government is continuing to expand its electric bus service to more districts across Punjab.
Through this project, it wants to improve public transport across the province. It also aims to reduce pollution and provide low-cost travel for more people.
Punjab govt moves to reduce transport fares
Before this, CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz welcomed the government’s decision to reduce petrol and diesel prices.
She also directed officials to quickly lower transport fares and goods delivery charges across the province so that people can benefit from the price cut.
She thanked the public for their patience during difficult times. She also appreciated Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and his team for reducing fuel prices.
Earlier than that, the Prime Minister announced a major cut in the prices of petrol and diesel.
Maryam Nawaz said the Prime Minister had fulfilled his promise to reduce fuel prices after the regional situation improved. She said his efforts helped the country avoid an energy crisis during a difficult time.
She also said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir played an important role in preventing an energy and economic crisis. She added that the full benefit of lower fuel prices should reach the public.
