Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has launched a crackdown on those individuals and plants that were selling LPG at high prices, the private media outlet reported on Thursday.
According to the details, OGRA sealed six LPG plants for selling LPG at a high price in Rawalpindi.
The OGRA spokesperson said that the authority is taking strict action against different companies, dealers, and plants for violating rules and selling LPG at a high price across Pakistan.
OGRA showed commitment to protecting citizens’ rights and confirmed that the authority will not allow any individual or company to engage in illegal profiteering.
The spokesperson also stated that the authority will continue its crackdown against the corrupt LPG dealers and companies.
The OGRA spokesperson clarified that the authority will ensure the availability of LPG at government rates in the country.
The OGRA spokesperson warned that strict legal action would be taken against companies, plants, and dealers violating rules and regulations.

Earlier, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced a major cut in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) on Tuesday this week. The authority has also issued a notification to implement the new rates.

According to the notification, the price of LPG has been reduced by Rs68 per kilogram. After the reduction, the new official price of LPG has been set at Rs 241 per kilogram.
Before this, the federal government announced a major cut in petroleum prices, as well. The reduction provides relief to consumers across the country.
