After days of intense heat, Islamabad’s weather turned pleasant as torrential rain hit the city.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a strong monsoon system has entered Pakistan. It is expected to bring more rain over the next few days.

The PMD said rain, strong winds and thunderstorms are likely in many parts of the country except Sindh.

Some areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may also receive heavy rainfall. This will increase the risk of urban flooding.

The department said moist winds from the Arabian Sea are moving into the upper parts of the country.

Moist winds from the Bay of Bengal are also expected to reach the northeastern areas. A westerly weather system is expected to enter the upper regions.
