Islamabad police announces 9,000 new jobs

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has announced that the Islamabad Police will recruit 9,000 new personnel, according to the reports on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press conference, the IGP said that the recruitment will include Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs), Sub Inspectors (SIs), Direct Inspectors, and other posts.

He said that many police officers are close to retirement, so the force needs more young officers.

The new recruitment will help improve policing, crime prevention, emergency response, and public safety in the federal capital.

Rizvi also said that the department is increasing the use of electric vehicles. After adding 50 electric patrol vehicles, the Islamabad Police will receive 50 more for general policing.

The Islamabad Traffic Police will also get 40 electric patrol vehicles. These vehicles will help improve traffic management and emergency response while supporting the government’s clean energy goals.

ICT police jobs 2026

The Islamabad Capital Territory Police recently announced new job opportunities for civil and uniform staff in 2026.

Both men and women can apply for 124 civil posts and 1,588 uniform posts under the federal quota system.

The department said recruitment will be based on merit and transparency. Applications will be accepted online only.

For civil staff, a total of 124 vacancies have been announced. These include 20 Assistant (BS-15) posts, one Production Assistant (BS-14) post, 25 Stenotypist (BS-14) posts, nine Data Entry Operator (BS-14) posts, 28 Upper Division Clerk (UDC) (BS-13) posts, and 41 Lower Division Clerk (LDC) (BS-11) posts.

The vacancies have been allocated under quotas for Islamabad Capital Territory, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and FATA.

Candidates will have to pay Rs2,000 for each application and for each post they apply for.

The fee can be paid through banks, ATMs, internet banking, Easypaisa, JazzCash, UPaisa and TimePay using the PSID generated by the online portal. Also, the fee is not refundable.
