Fire erupts in Islamabad's Karachi company

A fire has broken out in the G-9 Trade Centre area of Islamabad today, also famously known as Karachi Company.

According to the initial reports, the fire started in the basement of the trade centre due to a short circuit.

As of now, the fire brigade teams are present at the scene. Nearby areas and shops have been evacuated as well.

Previously, a fire broke out at the H-9 Sunday Bazaar near Peshawar Mor in Islamabad. The flames engulfed many shops, according to the reports.

Several shops and stalls were destroyed in the blaze. Fire brigade teams and rescue personnel reached the scene and launched an operation to bring the fire under control.

According to reports, additional Rescue 1122 vehicles and personnel were called from Rawalpindi to help stop the fire from spreading.

Media reports said the fire started suddenly in the H-9 Sunday Bazaar and quickly spread to a large section of the market.

The H-9 Sunday Bazaar has experienced several major fire incidents in the past. In July 2024, a nine member committee was formed to investigate a major fire at the market.

Earlier, around 100 stalls were destroyed in a fire in July 2018. In August 2017, another major blaze damaged more than 500 stalls and goods worth millions of rupees.

Fire in Tench Bhata landa bazar

On June 30, a fire broke out at the Tench Bhatta Landa Bazaar around midnight. It completely destroyed 25 stalls.

The blaze caused heavy losses to traders as most of their goods were reduced to ashes.

The fire started suddenly in the Landa Bazaar at Mehrban Market and quickly spread through the stalls.

Rescue 1122 and fire brigade teams reached the scene shortly and launched an operation to extinguish the blaze.
