The Punjab Council of the Arts has issued a show-cause notice to stage actress Wafa Ali over allegations of making obscene gestures during a theatre performance in Faisalabad.
According to reports, Wafa Ali was performing in a stage play at Minerva Theatre in Faisalabad when members of a monitoring team allegedly observed what they described as indecent gestures during the performance.
Based on the monitoring team’s report, the Punjab Council of the Arts has directed the actress to appear before the Faisalabad Arts Council and submit a written explanation.
Officials said disciplinary action is being considered, and Wafa Ali could face a ban of up to three months if the allegations are upheld.
The council has not yet announced a final decision, and the matter remains under review.
