Web desk: A tragic accident occurred near Motorway M-2 Bhera in the Federal Capital Islamabad when a private company bus collided with a trailer. The tragic accident resulted in the deaths of the bus driver and a hostess.
According to the Motorway Police, four passengers sustained serious injuries, while six others were slightly hurt. All the injured were immediately shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Bhera by rescue ambulances, sources say.
Initial reports suggest that the bus driver’s attention was diverted. This caused him to lose control of the vehicle, which subsequently went off the motorway, according to the reports.
The bus was travelling from Lahore to Islamabad at the time of the accident.
Motorway police reached the site promptly, and rescue operations are currently underway, officials said. The incident has raised concerns about road safety and driver vigilance on the busy motorway.
Islamabad University Bus Accident
Previously, at least 70 students were injured when a university bus met with an accident on Faisal Avenue, Islamabad.
According to initial reports, the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) bus was travelling at high speed when its brakes failed.
The bus collided with several vehicles before going off the road into a greenbelt.
The accident happened near Sector F-7, where traffic police had stopped vehicles due to a VIP route.
The bus, heading to the university in Sector H-8, tried to stop but lost control because of brake failure, police said.
Six other cars were damaged in the incident. Rescue teams and police reached the scene quickly, and the injured students were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
A case has been registered against the bus driver, while traffic on Faisal Avenue remained disrupted for several hours.
