The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has signed an agreement to build a new cricket ground in Abbottabad.
The project will be developed under a 25-year Memorandum of Understanding with Abbottabad University of Science and Technology.
Under the agreement, the university will provide land on its campus for the new ground. The PCB will build the facility with modern cricket standards.
It will also include match and practice pitches, a pavilion, modern equipment, and other facilities needed for domestic cricket.
The university will also provide free hostel and mess facilities for players and coaches. The PCB will use the ground throughout the year for regional training camps and academy activities.
The new facility will help young cricketers from the Abbott region, including under-15 players, school cricketers, and first-class players.
The agreement was signed by PCB Senior General Manager for Domestic Cricket Operations Osama Sharon and officials from Abbottabad University of Science and Technology.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Osama Sharon said the project is an important step for cricket in the Abbott region. He said that it will help develop local talent. It will also give young players a better chance to reach the national level.
PCB grants NOCs to 13 cricketers for Global Super League 2026
Earlier, the PCB issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to 13 players to take part in the Global Super League 2026.
The players who received NOCs include Muhammad Haris, Shahab Khan, Muhammad Naeem, Abdullah Shafiq, Farhan Yousuf, Shamil Hussain, Mehran Mumtaz, Usman Khan, Ali Shabbir, and four other cricketers.
The PCB also granted an NOC to Moaz Sadaqat, allowing him to play in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Test squad for the upcoming tours of the West Indies. Additionally, England is expected to include 16 players.
