Pakistani actor and the brother-in-law of actress Sajal Aly, Ali Ansari, has spoken about the recent controversy involving television host Nadia Khan and the actress.

Ali Ansari was asked about the issue during a recent interview. He said that he had not seen the exact scene, adding that Sajal is family to him.
“I know that whatever Nadia said was just in the flow while enjoying her segment,” he said.
Ansari also spoke about how clips can be taken out of context on social media. He said that edited clips can create a different meaning and lead to online criticism.
The actor said that he has known Nadia for a long time and described her as a spontaneous person.
He added that people who review dramas will not always agree with everyone. He said criticism and trolling are part of working in the entertainment industry.
Ansari also said that he now sees criticism in a different way. According to him, getting hate can sometimes mean that a person is doing something right.

What is the ‘controversy’ between Nadia Khan and Sajal Aly?
The controversy started after Nadia Khan reviewed episode 18 of the drama Zanjeerain.
During the review, she questioned a scene where Sajal’s character quietly asks if someone is there while trying to escape from danger.
Nadia also copied Sajal’s running style in an exaggerated way during the segment. The clip later spread on social media. Some viewers found it funny while others felt that Nadia had mocked the actress.

Many people criticised the actress, including fellow actress Maya Ali. She shared a note on Instagram stressing that “people recognise the difference between mocking, mimicry, and constructive criticism.”


Ali Ansari shares views on Pakistan’s drama industry
The actor also shared his views on the Pakistani drama industry. He said that viewers are tired of seeing the same stories and want fresh content.
He said that the rise of OTT platforms has also changed what audiences expect from dramas. According to Ansari, Pakistani producers can try new storytelling styles while working within their limits.
He also stressed the importance of good direction and execution. He said writers and directors should focus on telling stories in an effective way. He added that the visual quality of dramas should also be improved.
Ansari said production houses also need to spend more money on new ideas and better production.
