Federal government increases petrol prices by Rs6 per litre

The federal government has increased the petrol price by Rs6.51 per litre. The government also increased the diesel prices by Rs19.39. The government announced the increase after the prices of petroleum products rose in the international market.

Previously, the All Pakistan Petroleum Pumps Owners Association (APPPOA) denied reports of a countrywide strike and closure of petrol pumps from May 1 to 5.

Before this, there were speculations that had been circulating on social media claiming that petrol pumps across Pakistan would remain closed during this period. The whole situation caused confusion among the public.

However, the association has now made it clear that there is no truth in these claims.

APPPOA Vice Chairman Nauman Ali Butt said that the reports are baseless and have no link with the organisation.
