The Under-18 hockey Asia cup 2026 will be held in Kakamegahara which is a Japanese city, a private media outlet reported on Thursday.
This was announced by the Asian Hockey Federation, and they also released the schedule of the tournament.
The tournament will be held from May 29 to June 6.
The best teams in all of Asia will be participating in the tournament and competing for the title. There will be two versions for the tournament for both men and women.
There will be total of two groups in the men’s event and they will be divided into two groups.
Poll A is made up of Japan, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) and India. Pakistan will be in Poll B of the tournament with Bangladesh, China and Malaysia.
The journey of green shirts will be beginning on May 30. Their first match will be played against China which will start at 11:00 AM.
Pakistan will then play its second match against Malaysia on May 31. The second match will be conducted at 3:00 PM.
After the first two matches Pakistan then will meet with Bangladesh on June 3. This will be the last group match of Pakistan and will be played at 3:00 PM.
The further matches which are knockouts and semi-finals will begin on the 5th of June.
After the result of the semi-finals the finalists will meet each other in the final that will be conducted on June 6. There will be another match that day between the losing teams of the semi-finals.
That match will determine which team has the third position in the tournament.
Trials were organised by the Pakistan Hockey Federation from across the country in preparation for the event. Talented U-18 players have emerged from the Youth U-18 National Hockey Championship held recently.
