Web desk: The Balochistan Education Department has announced the winter holidays schedule for schools across the province, on Friday.

According to the announcement, educational institutions in colder regions will remain closed from December 16, 2025, to February 28, 2026.

However, it is different for the warmer regions of the province. The schools in warmer areas will observe winter break from 22 December 2025 to 4 January 2026.

The department urged students, teachers, and staff to plan accordingly and make the most of the scheduled holidays.

Sindh announces winter holidays

The Sindh Education Department has announced the winter holiday schedule for schools across the province previously too.

All public and private educational institutions will remain closed from 22 to 31 December 2025. The classes are expected to resume on January 1, 2026.

Winter break won’t affect board exams

A department spokesperson confirmed that the break will not affect board or other ongoing examinations. They will continue as scheduled.

Students and parents were advised to plan accordingly. Additionally, the schools can use the time for maintenance and preparation for the new term.

The department also urged students to complete any pending academic work before the holidays to avoid falling behind when classes resume.

With the winter break just around the corner, students are set to enjoy a well-deserved pause from their academic routines.

Weekly holiday announced in Punjab

Previously, the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) announced a new weekly holiday and revised school timings for its partner institutions.

The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has taken a significant and long-awaited step for its partner schools by officially announcing a weekly holiday.

A PEF spokesperson said that partner schools had previously remained open six days a week, and Saturday had not been observed as a holiday.

School heads and parents had repeatedly voiced concerns about the demanding weekly schedule. They said the increased workload was causing mental fatigue among students and affecting their performance.
