The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) Disciplinary Committee has suspended the registrations of 15 doctors for six months over alleged negligence and involvement in strikes during duty hours.
The Punjab government had referred the cases of the 15 doctors to the PMDC for disciplinary action.
The doctors were accused of disrupting patient care, closing outpatient departments (OPDs) and participating in strikes while on duty.
The PMDC Disciplinary Committee reviewed the available records and evidence before reaching its decision. Ten of the doctors appeared before the committee, while five remained absent.
Following the proceedings, the committee suspended the registrations of all 15 doctors for six months.
The PMDC has forwarded its decision to the Punjab Health Department for further action.

Earlier, Doctors across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have once again taken to the streets in protest, boycotting outpatient departments (OPDs) and elective services at government hospitals.
Doctors staged protests at Khyber Teaching Hospital and Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar, while trainee medical officers (TMOs) and house officers across the province also boycotted services.
The protesting doctors rejected the government’s 15 per cent salary increase, demanding that their salaries be raised by 30 per cent.
The doctors said the government had announced a 15 per cent increase, but even that raise was not being provided to them.
They warned that their protest and boycott would continue until their demands were addressed.
