Bilawal Bhutto thanks people of GB as PPP leads elections

The chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto, has thanked the people of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) for trusting the party, as the PPP leads the elections.

In his tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter, Bilawal said, “Gilgit-Baltistan mein teeron ki barish. The Pakistan Peoples Party is emerging as the single largest party and we will be attempting to form government.”

He added that I am grateful to the people for their trust and congratulations to Jiyalas on their victory.

According to the latest media reports, the PPP is currently leading the election in GB.

As per the unofficial results from 15 out of 24 seats, the PPP has secured victory in seven out of 24 seats of the GB assembly.

The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has secured victory in two seats till now, while five of the independent candidates have succeeded.

The unofficial and provisional results from the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Assembly elections are continuing, with candidates from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), independent candidates and other parties locked in closely fought contests across several constituencies.

Early unofficial results suggest PPP holds an advantage in a number of constituencies, although several races remain too close to call.
