Bilawal Bhutto promises jobs, rights for Gilgit-Baltistan

Job for Gilgit Bilawal Bhutto

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari says his party is committed to giving the “right of governance” to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. He said PPP has fought for their rights for three generations.

Addressing a public gathering in Gilgit during an election campaign, Bilawal said Gilgit-Baltistan is rich in natural resources. He promised that the party would create job opportunities for youth after June 7.

He said he last visited the region during the elections and claimed PPP presented its manifesto in every constituency and received strong public support. He alleged that the party’s mandate was “stolen” in the previous election.

This time, he said, he visited Gilgit-Baltistan with Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and urged supporters to secure their mandate and ensure fair elections.

Bilawal said the Muslim world is facing serious challenges, referring to conflicts in Iran, Lebanon, and Gaza. He asked voters to choose the party best able to handle current issues.

He credited the Bhutto family for Pakistan’s nuclear and missile programmes and said PPP leaders made key decisions on national security and foreign policy, including regional energy projects.

He said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto laid the foundation of Pakistan’s nuclear programme, while Benazir Bhutto advanced missile technology. He also credited Asif Ali Zardari for steps related to regional recognition and policy decisions.

Bilawal said PPP will work under the 18th Constitutional Amendment to secure more rights for Gilgit-Baltistan. He added that the party will promote development through public-private partnerships, including hydropower projects.

He said Gilgit-Baltistan has huge hydro potential and could generate up to 50,000 megawatts of electricity, calling it a “hidden treasure” of Pakistan’s economy.

He ended by promising merit-based jobs for youth and renewed development projects after June 7.
