A girls’ educational institution in Noshki, Balochistan, was targeted in a shooting attack carried out by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), leaving several female students injured and raising fresh concerns over attacks on educational institutions in the province.

The injured students were shifted to a private hospital for medical treatment, where they are receiving medical care.

Following the incident, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed provincial authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured students.

Acting on his instructions, Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar and Home Department Adviser Babar Yousafzai visited the private hospital to inquire about the students’ health and review their treatment.

Speaking during the visit, Kakar said the provincial government would bear all expenses related to the injured students’ medical treatment. He added that the girls had demonstrated courage and bravery despite the difficult circumstances.

He stressed that attacks on educational institutions would not weaken the determination of the people or discourage students from pursuing education.

Meanwhile, Babar Yousafzai alleged that elements associated with Fitna al-Hindustan had facilitated the attack on Noshki Girls’ Degree College. He said such elements would never succeed in achieving their objectives.

Yousafzai added that the provincial government had assured the injured students and their families of every possible support.

The incident has once again highlighted security concerns surrounding educational institutions in Balochistan, particularly those providing education to female students.
