Lawyer Ramsha Iqbal, the sister of actress Momina Iqbal, has claimed that 26 more women have come forward to file cases against Saqib Chadhar. She said that some actresses are also among them.
Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Ramsha thanked everyone who supported her during the case.
She said that no woman should have to face the kind of pressure she had experienced.
Ramsha said her family had been targeted in the media. She added that she had remained patient and was now ready to present evidence to support her claims.
She also defended the documents she presented at her previous press conference. According to her, the papers were certified copies. She said complaints had been filed against her in response.
What did Ramsha say about the complaints against her?
Ramsha said decisions on complaints filed against her at the Punjab Bar and other forums had gone in her favour.
She claimed that her opponents had tried to damage her reputation but had failed to appear in court themselves.
She added that the relevant institutions would determine who was telling the truth.
Ramsha also questioned the changing claims about the amount of money involved. She said the figure had first been reported as Rs2 crore and was later reduced to Rs80 lakh.
What did she say about the investigation?
Ramsha said she no longer had full confidence in the institutions handling the matter.
She referred to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) and said it usually conducts an inquiry before registering a case.
She argued that a case had been registered against the people involved because evidence was available against them.
Previously, PML-N Member of the Punjab Assembly Saqib Chadhar has denied allegations made by Hamza Habib, the husband of actress Momina Iqbal.
Hamza Habib had accused Saqib Chadhar of arranging shooters to kill him. Saqib rejected the allegations in an Instagram story. He called the claims a “fake story” and said they were baseless.
He also requested the Punjab Inspector General of Police to provide security to Hamza. Further adding that he needed it badly.
