The government of Punjab has approved a major financial package for multiple development projects in the province.
A total of Rs87 billion has been sanctioned for the provision of urban amenities and the upgradation of the transport system.
This decision was taken at the seventeenth meeting of the Development Working Party held under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the P&D Board.
The meeting approved wide-ranging development schemes for various sectors, with the largest portion allocated for municipal projects and public transport.
Rs39 billion has been sanctioned for municipal development schemes under which construction of roads in numerous cities and towns of the state, improvement of the drainage system, and other urban development.

Similarly, a risk amount of Rs51 billion has been approved to modernise the public transport system, including bus depots, bus shelters, flag posts, and other basic travel facilities in various divisions.
The meeting further decided to allocate Rs4 billion for the construction of sewage, drainage, and the Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) roads in Bhakkar, Gujarat, and Nowshera works aimed mainly in these areas.

Roads and Transport
- 630 new Eco-Friendly Buses & Construction of Bus Depots in Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi. Bahawalpur, Faisalabad
- Rehabilitation of Multan-Vehari Road: Length 93.5 Km
- Roads Restoration Program
- CM Road Rehabilitation Program
- Rehabilitation of Faisalabad-Chiniot, Sargodha Road: Length 32.6 Km
Energy
- Solarisation of Public Buildings
- CM Roshan Gharana Program
- Chief Minister Fund for the Indigenisation of Solar Panel Production
- Design and Construction of a Net-Zero Energy Building
Urban Developments
- Establishment of Safe City Girls’ Hostel at Lahore
- Construction of Rawalpindi Ring Road from Banth to Thalian
- Punjab Cities Program
- Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Program
