The Islamic Republic of Pakistan will witness the 88th anniversary of the national poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, today.

The 88th birth anniversary of the poet of the East and the famous philosopher, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, is being celebrated with devotion and respect.

He did a lot in the field of scholarly, intellectual, and literary services.

Allama Iqbal was the greatest thinker of the subcontinent who highlighted the consciousness of self, awakening, and freedom among Muslims through his poetry.

His concept became the foundation of Pakistan after the establishment of a separate homeland, and his ideas gave a new direction to a condemned nation.

The sermon given by the poet of the East in 1930 is considered to be an important milestone in the history of Allahabad that paved the way for a separate homeland for Muslims.

Alamah Iqbal was born on November 9, 1877, in Sialkot.

He received his primary education there and later completed his higher education in Lahore.

For further education, he went to Europe.

where he specialised in law and philosophy, and also obtained a doctorate from a well-known German university.

Iqbal also served in the fields of teaching, advocacy, and politics, but his real identity is his poetry, in which he taught the Ummah Muslims unity, selflessness, and action.

Their well-known collections include Bang-e-Dara, Bal-e-Jibreel, Zarb-e-Kaleem, and Armaghan-e-Hijaz.

He died on April 21, 1938, a few years before the separation of Pakistan from India, but his legacy lives on and has become a source of guidance for the nation.

His shrine is located in the premises of Badshahi Masjid in Lahore, where a large number of people visit every year.
