Morris Garages (MG) Motors is about to launch a new HS series in Pakistan.

MG Motors is preparing to launch a new generation of its HS model in Pakistan, as competition in the SUV market continues to grow.

The HS was the company’s first vehicle in Pakistan when it entered the market in 2020.

Initially, the model was sold as a fully imported unit.

By 2022, the company began local assembly, introducing the “Essence” variant, followed later by a more affordable “Excite” version.

In 2024, MG expanded the lineup by adding a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant alongside the 1.5-litre turbo model.

A facelift of the first-generation HS was launched in February 2025, bringing minor exterior updates and a new interior colour scheme.

However, the model has faced increasing competition in recent years, particularly from newer Chinese brands offering updated designs, newer technology, and competitive pricing.

As per the media reports, MG Motors could update its production through this.

According to sources familiar with the matter, MG Motors Pakistan is now set to introduce the second-generation HS in the country.

The model has already been available in international markets since 2024.

The new version is expected to focus more on hybrid technology.

Unlike the earlier model, which relied mainly on a petrol engine, the upcoming HS will be offered in two electrified options: a standard hybrid (HEV) and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV).

International specifications suggest that the hybrid version combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, producing around 221 horsepower.

The plug-in hybrid variant is expected to deliver higher performance, with a combined output of up to 295 horsepower and an electric-only driving range of about 100 kilometres under standard testing conditions.

Pricing has not yet been officially announced. However, market estimates suggest the hybrid variant could be priced below Rs10 million, while the plug-in hybrid version may exceed Rs10 million.

The company has not confirmed an exact launch date, but industry sources indicate that an official announcement could come soon.
