Australian all-rounder Will Sutherland has been ruled out of the T20 Blast due to a shoulder injury. He was set to represent Yorkshire in the event.

Will Sutherland, who is a highly valued all-rounder and captains Victoria and Melbourne Renegades, played three County Championship matches and 12 Blast games for Yorkshire last year.

According to team general manager Gavin Hamilton, he had become a “very popular” member of the squad and was due to return this summer for two Championship matches and the entire Blast tournament.

However, according to ESPNcricinfo, it has emerged that Will Sutherland was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his shoulder after last month’s Sheffield Shield Final, and the club confirmed on Monday that he will not be available for the team this season.

A club spokesperson said that Yorkshire County Cricket Club confirms that Will Sutherland will not be able to be part of this year’s Vitality Blast due to injury.

Information about any replacement player will be provided at the appropriate time. The entire Yorkshire County Cricket Club team wishes him a speedy recovery.
