In Karachi on Shahrah-e-Faisal near Metropole unidentified attackers shot dead a doctor in front of his wife, according to media reports.
According to police the deceased was identified as Dr. Sarang, whose body was later moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal procedures.
The investigation revealed that the attackers in a car opened fire on doctor in a rickshaw carrying the couple fleeing the scene.
Reportedly at the time of attack the victim was going back to his home from Cantt Station with his spouse. Dr. Sarang lived near the Karachi Press Club and worked as a physician at a private hospital.
Police have launched an investigation and are examining multiple angles to determine the motive behind the apparent targeted killing.

Meanwhile, Inspector General (IG) Sindh Javed Alam Odho has taken stern notice of the rising number of robbery incidents across Karachi. He has sought a detailed report from Additional IG Karachi, Azad Khan, and directed officials to take strict action against street crime.
The IG ordered the formation of special police teams to arrest suspects swiftly and instructed officers to intensify intelligence-based operations. He also emphasised improving patrols, enhancing snap-checking, and placing crime-prone areas under close surveillance.
Additionally, he called for the use of modern technology, including expanded CCTV monitoring, and urged police to respond quickly to public complaints. He stressed that maintaining law and order must remain a top priority.
