The England Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a 16-member squad for the tri-nation ODI series in Pakistan. Harry Brook will captain England, while the squad includes Joe Root, Guy Atkinson, Sonny Baker, Tom Banton and James Coles. Adil Rashid and Sam Curran have returned to the England squad after recovering from injuries, while Jofra Archer has been rested for the tour of Pakistan. Jos Buttler has not been included in the squad due to a hamstring injury.

The squad also features Jordan Cox, Mason Crane, Henry Crocombe, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Jamie Overton and Josh Tongue. The tri-nation series involving Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England is scheduled to be held in Lahore and Rawalpindi from October 18 to October 31. Pakistan and England will open the series in Rawalpindi on October 20.

England will enter the upcoming ODI tri-series in Pakistan without Jos Buttler, who has been ruled out after suffering a hamstring injury during the second ODI against Sri Lanka. In Buttler’s absence, Jordan Cox impressed both behind the stumps and with the bat. The wicketkeeper-batter scored a quick 76 off 52 deliveries in the series-deciding match at The Oval, helping England post a total of 355.

Jofra Archer has also been rested for the Pakistan tour. Leg-spinner Mason Crane has earned an ODI call-up, returning to the international setup eight years after making his only Test appearance during the 2018 Ashes in Sydney. The 29-year-old has played two T20Is and taken one wicket, and could now make his ODI debut.

England have also included two promising young players in their white-ball squads. All-rounder James Coles, 22, and 21-year-old fast bowler Henry Crocombe are part of the group as England continue to build their squad ahead of the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.

England will begin their tri-series campaign against Pakistan on October 20 in Rawalpindi, followed by matches against Sri Lanka and Pakistan at Rawalpindi and Lahore.
