The Punjab government has issued directions to relevant authorities for foolproof security on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi across the province, the private media outlet reported on Wednesday.
The Punjab Home Department issued directives to relevant authorities across the province for Eid Miladun Nabi, with the arrangements made on the pattern of Muharram.
According to the issued notification by the government, all religious gathering, and processions will be completely mapped. On the other hand, walk-through gates, metal detectors, CCTV cameras, and snipers will be deployed along crucial routes.
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) will lead intelligence-based operations, while the Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) will submit daily security situation reports to the Home Department.
The government has also imposed strict restrictions on the illegal use of loudspeakers, wall chalking, hate speech, aerial firing and display of weapons.

Earlier, Islamabad had launched the first-ever digital app, “Mehfooz Muharram” (Safe Muharram) as part of the security strategy for Muharram-ul-Haram.
The security arrangements were reviewed during a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who examined the administrative and security preparations for Muharram.
The newly introduced Mehfooz Muharram app will allow citizens to actively participate in maintaining security by reporting suspicious individuals and unusual activities. The application will also provide live location and image sharing features, enabling authorities to respond quickly to potential threats.
All Imambargahs, religious gatherings, and procession routes in Islamabad will be under digital surveillance to closely monitor activities during Muharram. Additionally, a central control room has been established at Safe City Islamabad to oversee security operations and coordinate emergency responses throughout the holy month.
