Electricity prices have been reduced by Rs1.99 per unit for consumers across the country, providing relief to power users under a quarterly adjustment mechanism.
According to officials, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved the reduction in electricity tariffs under the quarterly adjustment for the period January to March 2026.
The official notification states that this relief will be applicable for three months, from June to August 2026. The reduction will also apply to K-Electric consumers.
Authorities further said that the total relief to electricity consumers will amount to Rs67.17 billion, benefiting millions of users nationwide.

It is necessary for citizens of Pakistan to use electricity carefully, as it will help the energy sector in Pakistan. After the war in the Middle East, several countries are currently facing an energy crisis. On the other hand, the Pakistani authorities urged citizens to use electricity to avoid the severe electricity crisis in the country.
Loadshedding in different parts of country
Several reports confirmed in the last few days that there is a loadshedding for extended hours in different parts of the country, including Karachi and other big cities of the country.
