A special universal number has been introduced for overseas Pakistanis, allowing citizens living in any country to directly contact Punjab Emergency Services.
According to details, on the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority has taken a major and revolutionary step for overseas Pakistanis.
The authority has launched a dedicated universal number for the emergency helpline 15, enabling direct access to Punjab Police and other emergency services from anywhere in the world.
A spokesperson for the Punjab Safe Cities Authority said that the biggest benefit of this initiative is that citizens living outside Punjab or in any country will now be able to directly contact Punjab Emergency Services.
Overseas Pakistanis will be able to report complaints or emergency situations to Punjab Police from anywhere in the world through this universal number.
The spokesperson further said that all major and essential services of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority will remain available 24/7 through this universal access number.
Overseas Pakistanis have welcomed the initiative, saying it will allow them to get immediate assistance for security issues related to their families, property and other matters in Punjab while living abroad this is an initiative long demanded by them.
Saudi Arabia issues key helpline contacts for Hajj pilgrims
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has issued a public safety advisory for Pakistani pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj 2026, urging them to keep important emergency contact numbers readily available throughout their journey.
The ministry shared several helpline numbers for emergency, medical, transport and security related assistance to facilitate pilgrims during Hajj.
According to officials:
- 911 can be contacted for emergency and security services
- 999 has been designated for police assistance
- 997 is the official ambulance and medical emergency helpline
- 998 is available for civil defence emergencies
- 996 can be used for road security assistance
- 937 has been assigned for health information and complaints
The ministry also announced that pilgrims can contact 1966 for Hajj-related information, complaints and guidance services during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
For religious guidance, authorities shared the multilingual fatwa and advisory helpline 8002451000, which provides assistance in 16 languages for pilgrims seeking religious information during Hajj.
Officials advised pilgrims to save all important helpline numbers on their mobile phones and immediately contact the relevant authorities in case of emergencies, health issues or other difficulties during Hajj 2026.
