Mexico were eliminated from the World Cup quarter-finals on Sunday after an exciting Round of 16 match with England (3-2), in which England had to play with 10 men for much of the second half.
The match, held at Mexico City’s famous Estadio Azteca, was delayed by an hour because of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The atmosphere in the stadium was a tough one for England as over 80,000 home fans had filled the venue.
Jude Bellingham was the standout of the game, dominating the scoreboard with 2 goals scored within two minutes of each other during the first half and put England ahead by 2-0.
The home side didn’t give up and after the break Julian Quinones hit a shot past the English goalkeeper to put Mexico ahead by 2-1.

England got bad news in the second half when Jarell Quansah was sent off after a video review for dangerous play, leaving England with one player down for the rest of the game.
Some moments later Harry Kane scored for England with a penalty and that became the final score of the match for England.
But Mexico did not give up, and got its own penalty, which was easily converted by Raul Jimenez to increase Mexico’s score to 3-2.
The last few minutes were fraught as Mexico searched for an equaliser and England was dedicated to holding on to their lead.
The English players defended bravely during the added time and played on until the final whistle.
The win puts England in the World Cup quarter-finals and they will be taking on Norway.
England head coach Thomas Tuchel applauded his side for their resolve as they fought through the adversity, the passion of their home supporters and with 10 men for most of the game.
